Cherrybomb (2009)
I watched this movie after reading about it somewhere (in Empire I think). Mostly I was excited because it combined Harry Potter and Misfits; two loves of mine.
It was an okay movie, but the premise of two guys who are supposedly great mates fighting over a girl they just met is kinda mega lame.
But Ron's hair is FANTASTIC. I wish I was a boy so I could do my hair like that.

Machete (2010)
Hello again. There has been a bit of an awkward silence for awhile. So to make up for it I'm writing about one of the greatest movies I've seen since I wrote that last post... last year...
MACHETE !
MACHETE !
They definitely fucked with the wrongggg Mexican.
Robert Rodriguez, because he's a bad ass babe and all, made a lovely fake trailer to pop in before the 'Grindhouse' of Planet Terror/Death Proof [a glorious mix of Tarantino and Rodriguez = cinematic bliss]. This will probably teach Rodriguez not to do so in future, as after watching it everyone was like OMG THAT MACHETE MOVIE LOOKS FULLY SICKKKKKK! So he made it into a movie :)
It's a wonderful story of government types being bastards and scary faced men and their comrades seeking revenge.
Even Lindsey Lohan does not ruin this.
If you're already a Rodriguez fan you'll love this.

Armageddon Expo 2010
Today I went to the Armageddon Expo. It was rather lovely.
Seeing people dressed up as Darth Vader and stuff is always good value.
There was even a replica Tardis, which I was mega excited about and got my picture taken with ^^.
This is not me and a Tardis.
I also got a splendid tshirt that says 'Trust me, I'm the Doctor'.

Nine Dead (2010)
This is one of those glorious straight-to-video movies.
It's about nine apparently random individuals are kidnapped and locked up in a room together. A masked creeper tells them they have to figure out why he has brought them all there; and that every ten minutes he will return to the room and ask if they have figured it out. If they haven't he'll kill one person and etc. He even gives them coloured chalk to help figure out this magical murderous riddle.
It's a very Saw-esque type storyline.
This movie poster is a bit of a spoiler about the order people die in..
One of the main reasons I wanted to watch this was because one of my childhood favorites Melissa Joan Hart aka SABRINA THE TEENAGE WITCH!!! was in it.
... she hasn't aged too well.

Gentlemen Broncos (2009)
Today was a video ezy day, so I have seen three new movies today; one of which was Gentlemen Broncos.
It's about a guy who writes sci-fi novels and goes to some homeschoolers convention for writers. and oh no his sci-fi writing hero is there and steals his story. bastard.
It's pretty weird. Not really in a good way most of the time. It's directed by the same guy who did Napoleon Dynamite. yeaaaaaaaaaah he hit his peak.
The parts with the sci-fi story acted out were pretty amusing though.

Strangers on a Train (1951)
I bought this on dvd at the Camberwell market last Sunday.
This Hitchcock film tells the tale of Guy and Bruno, strangers who meet on a train one day. Bruno is a bit of a weirdo and starts talking about how he wishes his father was dead, and knows that Guy would like it if his estranged wife was dead so he could marry some babe (he knows this because Guy is a famous tennis player lol). Bruno thinks the perfect murder would be if they each did the other man's murder, because as randoms there would be no motive and stuff. Genius!
Only Bruno, as I mentioned, is a weirdo and actually kills Guy's hoe of a wife.
And Guy is a bit WTF?!?! OMG?!! about that.
Bruno then goes a bit crazy crazy demanding Guy kill his father or else he'll plant evidence that makes it look like Guy killed his wife. And thus a showdown at a carnival ensues.
My favorite character was Barbra because she was weird and didn't seem very 1950s-ish.
